Maybe you've flipped through garden magazines, imagining yourself strolling through Sissinghurst's famous White Garden or standing in the shadow of Dover Castle's ancient walls.
But here's what stops most people:
What if someone who actually LIVED in England could hand-pick the best castles and gardens, handle every detail, and give you the insider experience you've always wanted?
This isn't a generic tour. This is a carefully curated journey through Southeast England's most spectacular estates - many of which were private homes to medieval Queens, Kings, and nobility.
Barry Devo, owner of Prepco Travel (a native Brit who grew up in Kent), has hand-picked every castle and garden on this tour. You'll be guided by expert licensed British guides like Tanya, who brings history alive with stories no guidebook contains.
Here are the 8 magnificent locations you'll explore:
You'll stay in one luxury hotel (the historic Chilston Park Hotel, dating to 1100) for 6 nights. No packing and unpacking daily. No rushing. Just relaxed day trips with your luggage waiting for you.
Plus, with a maximum of just 8 travelers, you'll get personalized attention from Tanya, easy conversation with the entire group, and the flexibility to linger at your favorite gardens.
Private vehicle and driver for all tours. Airport pickup and drop-off. No navigating, no renting cars, no stress.
6 nights at Chilston Park Hotel (luxury manor house dating to 1100). 1 night near London Heathrow. All rooms with ensuite facilities. Full English breakfast daily.
Leeds Castle, Hever Castle, Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Pashley Manor, Bodiam Castle, Scotney Castle, Dover Castle, Windsor Castle. No surprise costs at the gate.
Barry Devo personally leads select tours. Accredited, insured, and knows every hidden story. Small group means you can actually ask questions.
20% VAT tax already factored in - no surprises on your final bill.
Full English breakfast included daily. Lunch and dinner are on your own, but the group dines together at local pubs, cafés, and tearooms that Tanya recommends - you'll never eat alone!
Day 1: You arrive in London, but instead of battling crowds, you're whisked to a charming local hotel where you meet your fellow travelers over tea.
Day 2: You're driven through the rolling countryside of Kent to your "home base" - a stunning manor house where you can actually UNPACK for 6 nights.
Day 3: You stand on the grounds of Leeds Castle, built on a lake in 1119, once home to Henry VIII. Your expert British guide Tanya tells you stories about medieval Queens that no guidebook contains.
Day 4: You walk through the moated castle where Anne Boleyn played as a child. The gardens are in full bloom. You have your camera ready, but honestly, you're too mesmerized to take photos.
Day 5: Sissinghurst. The garden every enthusiast dreams of seeing. You're there. You made it happen.
Day 6-8: More jaw-dropping gardens, more castles, more "I can't believe I'm actually here" moments. Tanya shares insider knowledge and takes you to the best photo stops. Lunches at charming pubs where you'll share stories and laughs with your fellow travelers.
Day 9: Windsor Castle - you walk where royalty walks.
Day 10: A comfortable hotel near the airport. You sleep well, knowing tomorrow you fly home with memories that will last a lifetime.
This isn't just a vacation. It's the trip you'll talk about for years.
My husband John and I returned from an unforgettable September trip to England. From the moment we first contacted Barry, until the end of the trip, the experience was one we will never forget.
During the initial planning phase, involving numerous phone calls and emails, all of our questions were promptly answered, and our primary interests were factored into our itinerary. We chose pub stays, and the accommodations chosen were perfect. Just our cup of tea!! After all, who has stayed in a pub built in 1402?!
Our love of old churches, castles, historical sites, beautiful gardens, stone buildings and craggy cliffs was wonderfully fulfilled. It was definitely 'our' trip.
A wonderful trip booklet was provided, and all airport pickups, drop offs, reservations, flights, and schedules went off without a hitch. Such a relaxing, pressure-free way to travel. The weather was also a gift. I think we only needed our umbrella once during the whole time!
We had the best driver/guides ever!
Tanya took care of us in Kent. We had a wonderful time together, enjoyed each other's company, and learned so many interesting details about history from her. We hiked the white cliffs of Dover, climbed castle steps, explored National Trust estates together, and relaxed over lunch, one treat after another! She is a gem!
On the next stage of our trip, Louise took us under her wing, and introduced us to the wonders of Cornwall. So friendly and outgoing. We bonded immediately. She took us to all of her favourite natural places, off the beaten track, which is what we love. We trekked one gorgeous craggy coastline and cliff after another together. We were in awe. Wonderful seafood feasts together.
Will was our companion through Oxford and the Cotswolds. He arranged an extra unexpected tour of Oxford University while we were there. We never stopped learning and enjoying and being amazed for the whole trip.
We feel that we formed personal relationships with our driver/guides, and are privileged to have spent time with them. They shared their home turf with us, and gave us a travel experience that we will treasure always.
Thank you Barry and team.
